Circular Materials launches today!

Circular Materials will operate as a not-for-profit, producer-governed organization

Today, July 28, 2021, leading food, beverage and consumer products manufacturers, retailers and restaurants, have officially launched a national “producer responsibility organization (PRO)” called Circular Materials to create new recycling systems for packaged products, starting with  offering blue box recycling services in Ontario.

Circular Materials will operate as a not-for-profit, producer-governed organization which was developed to help companies who make packaged goods manage and pay for the entire blue box recycling system starting in 2023 in Ontario. Achieving recycling circularity requires action throughout all aspects of our business and in industry, including improving packaging design, enhancing collection and recycling systems and increasing the use of recycled content – and Nestlé Canada as a founding member of Circular Materials, is committed to supporting this work.
