Nestlé Canada raises over $400,000 for Kids Help Phone in 2012

Each year, Nestlé Canada employees come together to raise funds and awareness for Kids Help Phone, through the Kids Help Phone Golf Classic and the Walk So Kids Can Talk. 2012 has been our most successful year yet – raising more than $400,000 for this vital organization.

“The cause is meaningful in so many ways,” says Tim Brown, CEO, Nestlé Canada. “At Nestlé Canada, we strive to help Canadians live healthier and happier lives, and a very important part of being healthy is being happy. This is where Kids Help Phone comes in and why we’ve developed this partnership. Kids Help Phone counsellors provide an outlet for young people to confidentially and safely discuss their concerns. Problems can range from big to small, but knowing that someone is there to listen can make a difference to a young person’s well being. Finding some peace of mind can make all the difference in someone’s day, and in many cases, their life.”

Golfing for a great cause

On August 21, Nestlé Canada presented the 15th annual Kids Help Phone Golf Classic at the Angus Glen Golf Club in Markham. This event raised an incredible $290,000 thanks to the generous support of our suppliers, customers and employees.

Since its inception in 1997, the Nestlé-supported Golf Classic has helped raise over $3.3 million for Kids Help Phone.

Walking for a wonderful organization

The 2012 Walk So Kids Can Talk took place on Sunday, May 6 at 40 locations across the country. Again, we raised more than ever before, through employee-driven fundraisers like an online auction, bingo and bake sales. In total, we raised over $110,000.
