We have a long-standing commitment to environmental responsibility and are leaders in conserving natural resources and minimizing waste.
We’ve taken a number of steps to conserve water in our bottled water operations.
At Nestlé Waters Canada, our use of groundwater is even smaller than the industry average. This means that today, it takes us slightly less than 1.2 litres of water to deliver 1 litre of drinking water. By comparison, it takes 3 litres of water to produce one litre of soft drinks; 42 litres of water to produce one litre of beer; 183 litres of water to produce one 8-ounce (236 millilitres) glass of milk; and 148,000 litres of water to manufacture an automobile.
Our Eco-Shape® 500 mL bottle is one of the lightest in the industry and contains 60% less plastic than the bottles we provided in 2000
We’re continuously assessing our packaging and identifying design and material changes that can reduce our packaging footprint
All of our water bottle packaging is 100% recyclable. We promote the recycling of our bottles and aim to have every one of our containers recycled.
In partnership with industry, consumers and government, we created Public Spaces Recycling to capture the “last mile” of recyclables – items typically captured through curbside recycling programs that are abandoned in public areas.
